Summary:
Ross gets a new roommate: a monkey named Marcel. Monica throws a New Year's Eve party, which Chandler wants to make a no-date pact, which in the end no one follows. Phoebe meets a scientist at the coffee house named David who she falls head over heels for, and then finds out he's going to Russia on a science grant. She brings him to the party so they could spend one last night together. Joey's date brings her children, ruining his chances at getting lucky. Chandler invites Janice and immediately regrets it. Monica's date Fun Bobby turns out not to be so fun. Rachel was supposed to pick up Paolo from the airport, but he had missed his flight. At the end of the night, the group ends up dateless, just as Chandler had wanted.
